Last week I took a little vacation to Kelowna. Well, it was actually for a medical appointment, which I will tell you about in another post, but I made it into a shopping holiday! Lol

Kelowna is one of my all time favorite places to visit, not only because my best friends live there but because the weather is always great and there is so much to do.

I have been 4 times this year already, I am thinking this will be the last time this year since I spend a little more than I probably should have!

But what’s a girl to do when she’s all alone in the city?

SHOP!

That’s right!!! It’s not like I was alone, my friends were at work during the day so really what was I to do?

My favorite places to shop while I am in Kelowna are the Orchard Park Mall, where you can find almost every brand name store in one place, I did some serious damage in there!

And then there is the Mission shopping area, there are tons of funky little boutique stores down there that I love to browse around in. It’s a great place to wander around and grab a coffee and window shop as well.

And if you want to take a little break you are only a block away from the beach, so you can go and sit and soak up some sun!

Here is a list of some of my favorite things to do while I am in Kelowna that don’t involve shopping, GASP!!!

1. Visit the Kangaroo Creek Farm in Lake Country.

This is an awesome farm that not only has Kangaroos but it has wallabies, emos, peacocks, and all sorts of fancy chickens, parrots, and pigs!

There were even baby goats when I went the last time!

So adorable…

Check out their website http://kangaroocreekfarm.com/

2. Go on a Wine Tour, or two or three…

You must go on a wine tour and tasting if you are visiting the Okanagan Valley whether you like wine or not.

The scenery alone will take your breath away and you might just learn a thing or two. It’s so amazing to see what goes into the making of the wine from the vineyards to the process to the bottling.

I recommend driving down to Osoyoos and hitting up the wineries along the way. Just don’t sample too much or you might be overnighting it at one of the fabulous hotels or B&B’s!!!

Or in that case! You’re on Vacation, Do it!

3. Myra Canyon Park.

Now this is a definite must on my list. You can rent a bike at the top and ride the famous Myra Canyon trestles and the Kettle Valley Railway Trail (KVR) or if you don’t feel that adventurous you have the option to hike it.

Don’t worry. It’s a pretty flat and wide trail, so it is suitable for the entire family! My friend and I rented bikes and road about 10 kms before pooping out! We did this spur of the moment and came unprepared so we had no snacks or water with us so we were starving and dehydrated, not something I recommend, especially in the Kelowna heat! Make sure to bring a camera; you will be kicking yourself if you don’t!This will be the best and most breath taking views of Kelowna you will ever see. Let alone the canyon itself, just don’t get to close to the edge…kidding!

4. Waterfront Park

After all that adventure you are going to need a break!

I know I always do, especially after that bike ride. All I want to do is relax on the beach and take in the rays.

What better play to go but Waterfront Park.

You can head down to the beach area and go for a little swim and soak up the sun, maybe look for Ogopogo! Or take a stroll along the water front trail. If you feel like going for a little walk there are tons of little shops in the down core to check out or if you are sick of shopping, Noooo! You could always take a little stroll through the Kasugai Japanese Gardens, a hidden little gem behind town hall.

I hope you check some of these fun things to do next time you are in Kelowna!

If you have anything that you love doing while you are there I would love to hear from you!
