This is an update from the previous post…
I started this new treatment of baking soda and vinegar in mid January and I loved it! I love that I haven’t had to by any “Poo” (shampoo) And as promised I am back with my update.
As most of you know I went away on vacation to Costa Rica.
Anyways, I thought long and hard about taking my new shampoo concoction with me on vacation but then at last minute changed my mind for various reasons.
One, I wasn’t really sure how I would customs would react to me having a large box of baking soda in my suitcase along with a giant tub of vinegar! Would they believe me if I told them it was my shampoo and conditioner?
Hmmmm and two, I think it would have weighed my luggage over the scale! So in the end I decided to hit up the health store and find the most natural organic bottle of shampoo I could find for the time I was away.
Between the salt water and direct sun my hair was a disaster when I returned home. It was dry and brittle; I even had to get about an inch cut off!
But as soon as I got back I got straight back in to the routine again, and boy did I notice the difference right away! Ever since I have been using this method again I have found my hair feel so much softer, fuller, and shiny! It is so much easier to comb out after washing, there are less tangles and it is much easier to manage. I can usually get away with washing my hair now every 2-3 days.
Another reason I love this method is not only is it so inexpensive, it is also a natural and chemical free alternative to all those harsh dyes and toxins that are found in regular shampoos and conditioners.
Using regular shampoo strips our hair and scalp of its natural oils, causing our oil glands to produce even more. So by washing your hair with baking soda your hair is cleansed of impurities without striping away the healthy needed oils.
The vinegar restores the PH of your hair by removing residues, leaving your hair looking SHINY! This is something I noticed almost right away! Bonus!
So there it is friends, a win win in my books!
No More Sham (poo)! I will continue to use this method for sure. Maybe I will switch up the essential oils every now and then for a little something different!
Let me know if you have tried the baking soda and vinegar hair treatment and how you liked it, I would love to know.
Here’s to no more ‘Poo’
